Aishwarya leads the table

Karnataka’s Aishwarya Rao led with 1098 pinfalls after the end of six games, in long oil condition, in the women’s individual event of the Bank of Maharashtra 24th National tenpin bowling championships at the Blu-O bowling alley here on Monday.

Rao’s State-mate and defending national champion Prathima Hegde was 18 pinfalls behind at 1080 while Delhi’s Anuradha Sarda was in the third position with 1074 pinfalls.
In the Men’s section, Delhi’s Shaikh Abdul Hameed stood in the first position after six games with 1265 pinfalls followed by Karnataka’s Akaash Ashok Kumar, who had 1241 pinfalls to his credit.

Liyakat Ali of Maharashtra was in the third place with 1202 pinfalls.

All bowlers will play six games on medium oil condition on Tuesday and the top 12 among men and women, based on cumulative pinfall of 12 games, will make it to the second round.

Results (Individual events, standings after six games): First round: Men: Shaikh Abdul Hameed (Del) 1265 pinfalls, 1; Akaash Ashok Kumar (Kar) 1241, 2; Liyakat Ali (Mah) 1202, 3.  Women: Aishwarya Rao (Kar) 1098, 1; Prathima Hegde (Kar) 1080, 2; Anuradha Sarda (Del) 1074, 3.
