<p>India is planning to set up a new test range for missiles but its location cannot be disclosed in the interest of national security, Defence Minister A K Antony informed the Lok Sabha on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Responding to queries from six MPs on setting up of missile testing centres, Antony said: “The government is planning to set up a testing range for missiles in the country. However, location, funds to be allocated, duration of completion and other details cannot be disclosed in the interest of national security.”<br /><br />Officials from Defence Research and Development Organisation had stated a new range was needed because the integrated testing range at Chandipur was overloaded. <br /><br />The proposed range to test both short- and long-range missiles is likely to come up on the east coast.</p>
