Vinoth Kumar scored three goals as Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC) routed a hapless Students Union 5-1 in the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Wednesday.

The big win helped HASC move up to the third spot with six points from three matches, while Students Union slumped to their third successive loss and have three points from four games.

HASC’s Nigerian trio of defender Kingsley and forwards Jagaba Hamza and Emmanuel had a field day as Students Union players struggled to come to terms with their physical strength and pace.

Substitute Vinoth came on as early as the ninth minute after Satish Kumar suffered an injury.

HASC attcked from the start and Hamza missed a fine chance as he headed wide from inside the area in the 15th minute. HASC went ahead in the 25th minute after Vinoth latched on to a through pass from R C Prakash and easily beat   Students Union goalkeeper Thomas.

Prakash was in the thick of things three minutes later with Emmanuel being the beneficiary this time as he calmly slotted the ball past an on-rushing custodian after receiving  another through ball.

Hamza got into the score sheet in the 42nd minute. He outwitted Thomas following a free-kick and rolled the ball into the net.

Vinoth added one more in injury time as HASC went into the break leading 4-0.
With the match as good as over HASC coach H Chandrasekhar took off Hamza and brought on D Raju at half-time. However, it provided little relief for Students Union as Vinoth scored his third and made it 5-0 in the 47th minute.

Students Union scored a consolation goal through Phillip in the 83rd minute.
Earlier, Jawahar Union got the better of ISRO 3-1 in the A Division. Desai (3rd) and Arun (36th, 72nd) scored for the winners, while Thamarai (6th) struck for ISRO.
