Two of the four men arrested were sent to four-day police custody by Saket Court on Wednesday. Another accused was sent to judicial custody to undergo an identification parade.

Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh Singh, of Ravi Dass Camp at RK Puram sector 3, were produced before metropolitan magistrate Namrita Aggarwal around 1 pm. Aggarwal sent Pawan, a fruit seller, and Vinay, an assistant gym instructor, to police custody, while Mukesh, who was allegedly driving the bus, was sent to a 14-day judicial custody.

The decision came after police told court that they needed police custody of the arrested accused to nab absconding Raju and Akshay, and recover stolen valuables of the woman and her boyfriend.

Mukesh was sent to judicial custody as he submitted an application in the court stating that he wanted to undergo a test identity parade. The court directed police to conduct the test identity parade at Tihar’s Central Jail on Thursday.

“Pawan and Vinay refused the test identity parade and were sent to police custody for interrogation to nab Raju and Akshay. We also hope to recover stolen mobile phones and other vital evidence,” a police official at the court said.

The accused will also be produced before Saket Court for robbing carpenter Ramadhar Singh an hour before the rape. They had offered lift to Ramadhar from RK Puram sector 4, and dumped him near IIT Gate after robbing Rs 7,000 around 8.30 pm.

The main accused, Ram Singh, was the first person to be arrested on Monday and was remanded to five-day police custody by Saket Court on Tuesday.

He told police that he was using a fake driving license to work with Yadav Travels
Police teams have been sent to Rajasthan, UP and Bihar to search for Raju and Akshay, both bus cleaners. “Raids are being conducted at various places in Bihar, but we are working on leads that they have fled to different places. We are chasing them and are hopeful of nabbing them soon,” a police official said.

Pawan and Vinay were arrested in the city, while Mukesh was nabbed in Rajasthan and brought to Delhi. Police claimed that the accused had partied, consumed alcohol and were on a joyride on Sunday when the incident occurred. Ram told police that they picked up the couple from Munirka bus stop around 9.15 pm.

According to Delhi Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, the accused became incensed when the woman hit them over misbehaviour and to teach her a lesson, they took her to the rear of the bus and gang raped her.

At 10.25 pm, a call was made to the police control room regarding two semi-naked bodies lying under Mahipalpur flyover in south Delhi. Police reached the spot and took the victims to Safdarjung Hospital.

“The bus, found at Rohilkhand in Noida, was cleaned by the culprits, but we have got enough forensic evidences like nail scratches and hair,” Kumar said.
