INSPIRED Riteish Deshmukh

At an award function, when director David Dhawan noticed Riteish’s act, he decided to make Riteish do a scene in the film Do Knot Disturb and who better to mimic than Amitabh Bachchan and that too his role of Vijay Verma in the film Deewar. So dressed in a blue shirt with a rope on his left arm and a beedi in his mouth, Riteish sways a bundle of 1000 rupee notes imitating Amitabh Bachchan from Deewar.

David Dhawan says, “Riteish’s mother in the film, played by Himani Shivpuri imagines his son to be like Amitabh Bachchan from Deewar, so we decided to have a scene with Riteish imitating him.” Adds Vashu, “We ensured that it was not disrespectful to Amitji or the film. In fact, we had even spoken to Rajiv Rai to tell him about the scene before we started shooting it.”
