5-layered security for Indo-Pak ODI

A five-layered security cover has been put in place for the first one-day international cricket match between India and Pakistan to be played on December 30 at the MA Chidambaram stadium here, police said today.

As part of the security measures, visitors would not be allowed to carry various articles including banners, cigarettes and lighters and only those possessing valid tickets would be allowed entry, and after thorough security checks, police said.

Metal detectors have been installed in all the 18 entry points at the stadium and "extensive security measures" are in place in the periphery of the venue with a five-layered protection, a city police release here said.

Further, 218 security cameras will keep an eye on the crowd and would be monitored from a control room, it said.
