One should always be thankful to god for whatever he has been giving and use one’s abilities for the betterment of needy people around him, opined Karnataka Zakath and Charitable Trust Chairman Khaleel Ahmed.

The Hyderabad-based entrepreneur was addressing the students, who won the scholarships initiated by the Trust, at Loyola Hall in St Aloysius College in Mangalore on Sunday.

“Instead of complaining about the discrimination, Muslims should come forward and help others to get quality life.  It is a competitive world and if you are competent and able, you will make it, irrespective of whichever organisation or workplace you want to get into,” he said.

He said that the Muslim community is enjoying the reputation of being first class citizens although they are a minority community in India, while on the contrary, minorities in other countries including Muslim states are being subjected to harassment.
Beary Education Institutions Chairman Sayyed Beary said that successful in life doesn’t mean that it is a meaning full life.

“It is the responsibility of each one of us to work for the happiness of fellow human beings,” he said and added that learning is an endless process and students should not leave the quest for knowledge in their life. MLA U T Khader was also present. About 2,200 meritorious students and differently-abled students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikmagalur districts were given away scholarship during the function.
