Wary lover kills girl, stabs self

After killing Megha Jagadish Savanth of Tadas village, accused Praveen Shankrappa Tirlapur stabbed himself. He has been admitted to KIMS.

Praveen was studying at KLE Polytechnic, while Megha was a student of Rural Polytechnic College at Tarihal.

According to the police, Praveen and Megha were in love for the last five years. However, the entry of Puneeth between the two, a few months ago, angered Praveen. He asked Megha to come to Hubli on Monday. When she arrived in the City, Praveen threatened Puneeth, who accompanied her and asked him to leave at once. Later, Praveen stabbed Megha with a knife and also stabbed himself.

Praveen and Megha have been friends, since the time the accused’s father Shankrappa Tirlapur was serving as a teacher in Tadas village. After retirement, Shankrappa shifted to Kalmeshwar Nagar in Old Hubli. However, the relationship between the two continued.
It is alleged that Praveen’s parents disapproved the marriage as Megha belonged to a different caste.
