Speaking at a convention organised by Karkala taluk Congress Committee here on Monday, he opined that no man should be denied justice just because he is poor.

The antenna of law should be directed towards people. Financial, food and social security should be made available for all. Women’s empowerment besides strengthening the youth force by offering them appropriate break is the need of the hour, he said.

The ‘pashchima vahini’ project to solve the drinking water problem in this part of region is being finalised. Central government will lend support for the programme.  The project proposal for the four-laning of the Kundapur-Surathkal stretch is in the approval phase.
The plans will be executed immediately after the approval. In between repair works will be taken up and fund has been sanctioned for the same. The plans to extend the NH-17 stretch for Sringeri-Mudibidri-Mangalore have been chalked out.

The project will be finalised in the near future, Moily added. Congress leaders B L Shankar, Vinay Kumar Sorake and others were present on the occasion.

Padmapriya case

Udupi District Mahila Congress urged the Union Minister to hand over the case regarding the death of Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat’s wife Padmapriya to the CBI.

Speaking on the occasion, President Veronica Kernelio alleged that the mystery behind the death of Padmapriya remains unsolved even after 16 months.

There are attempts from certain corners to bury the case. The MLA is misleading the authorities by alleging an illegitimate relationship between his wife and Atul. It seems that the CoD is in a hurry to seal the episode, she remarked.
