Badal seeks action against Star Plus

Badal telephoned Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni to apprise her about the matter and urged her to immediately initiate action against the channel for violation of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act,  1995.

Acting on the complaint lodged by the Valmik Samaj, the Jalandhar police has sent a special team of police personnel to Mumbai for preliminary investigations and a case has already been registered against the producer, director, script writer besides the actors involved in the controversial episode under Section 295-A, 153-A of IPC.

Strict action
The chief minister assured a delegation of the Valmik Samaj which called on him here this morning that strict action would be taken against the guilty involved in the incident. He asked the state director- general of police to thoroughly investigate the incident in which certain objectionable and derogatory remarks with reference to Bhagwan Valmik were made in the serial. Badal also sought exemplary punishment for the guilty involved in the incident.
