B Prakash’s stoppage-time goal helped leaders Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC) hold title challengers Army Service Corps (ASC) 1-1 in a thrilling BDFA Super Division match at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday.

The draw ensured HASC maintained their numero uno position in the points table with 16 points from seven matches while ASC are in the second place with 14 points from seven games. Barailly put ASC in front in the 40th minute when he produced a superb header off Amit Roy’s cross from the left.

Poor passing was the bane for HASC with the likes of Jagdish and Gautam Debnath running short of ideas. In the 70th minute, Nigerian recruit Emmanuel capitalised on a defensive lapse from ASC and lobbed the ball from the edge of the box but the ball missed the target by a few inches.

With five minutes of stoppage time, the contest was going away from HASC with their fans getting restless. But B Prakash slammed home the equaliser off a Sunil cross inside a crowded box in the fourth minute of the added time.

In the last ‘A’ Division match, Bangalore Mars thumped ISRO 6-1. Alex (16th, 40th, 43rd), U Babu (3rd, 60th) and Shabu (51st) netted for Mars while Raghu (35th) struck a consolation goal for ISRO.

Monday’s matches: Super Division: KSP vs RWF (1.00 pm); South United vs ADE (3.00 pm).
