Farmers should adopt changes to improve crop yield. However, it should be need based, said legislator K P Bache Gowda.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Krishi Mela and Horticulture Fair organised at PRS Nursery near Nandi Cross here on Sunday.

He urged the farmers to adopt new innovations in technology that would in turn boost agriculture production.

“If farmers fail to respond to new methods in the field of agriculture, they will lag behind,” he said.

In order to give fillip to agriculture, several improvisations and innovations are being made. Thus, farmers should emphasis on use of such equipment to reap better harvest, he added.
He directed farmers to make good use of Krishi Mela and Horticulture Fair.

Karnataka Milk Federation Director K V Nagaraj said that if permanent irrigation system is not implemented at the earliest, agriculture would be hit in the district. Thus, protests demanding the implementation of the scheme should be intensified.
