Submit report on shortage of water: ZP Chief

Zilla Panchayat President Rekha Huliyappa Gowda has directed the officials to provide information on measures taken to mitigate acute shortage of water in each taluk, to the ZP within a week.

At a special meeting, the ZP members expressed their displeasure over the failure of the officials in solving water woes.

Member Ananth said Kasaba and Baloor hobli in Mudigere taluk have been declared as drought-hit villages. Kasaba hobli is facing acute shortage of water and the officials have failed in solving the problem.

He said “we had submitted a list of habitations which has been facing shortage of water. However, the officials have failed to consider the list.”

Member Hemavathi said “the work on drinking water project at Thondavalli was initiated two years ago. However, electricity connection has not been provided to the water project, to supply water.”

Member Saniranjan said that Kalasapura and surrounding villages have been facing shortage of water.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Shivashankar said that a meeting will be convened at Tarikere, to discuss on shortage of water, on Thursday.
