An aspiring actress

Having studied in Mumbai, Madhu was always part of the stage and gradually her interest moved towards the silver screen.
With the support of her family she came to make her debut in Sandalwood for Narendra Babu’s Yuvah. “When Babu  first came to Mumbai to audition for heroines, he was looking for an innocent face with a bubbly character and I guess that’s what he saw in me,” says Madhu while adding, “But what really attracted me to the movie was the script. It was not one of those roles where the heroine just comes and goes. I have a substantial part and that’s what I like.” But not knowing the language turned out to be a real challenge for her. “I was given the script before hand and was asked to learn all the lines as there would be no one to prompt me,” says Madhu, who can now not only understand but also speak a bit of the language. Starring opposite another debutant, Karthik Shetty, Madhu says that they shared a great rapport. “Being newcomers, we shared almost the same problems so we always helped each other when ever required,” she adds.
Madhu has shared screen space with Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mimoh, in a yet to be released Hindi movie Murderer. “This is my first film in Hindi and I play a glamourous role in this movie. I even got to meet Mithun sir on the sets,” says she. “He is such a down to earth individual. I still remember before my first shot he told me to forget everything and just give my very best,” she recalls.
Having experienced both the industries, Madhu explains how apart from the language, there is no major difference. “In both the films I have worked with experts so I can say that there was nothing lacking in either of the industries. But as I stay in Mumbai, I feel that the competition out there is of a very different kind,” she adds.
As for the future, Madhu has already become choosy about the kind of roles she is going to take. “I have got many offers but I don’t want to simply get busy by signing all of them. I want to wait for the right kind of role,” she concludes.
