BCIC meet on industrial relations

The changing dynamics of Indian labour scenario and industrial relations were evident in the deliberations held among the stakeholders at the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) conference on Role of Industrial Relations in the Changing Economic Scenario on Friday.

The gathering at the conference held out the view that time has come to take head on the emerging challenges in industrial relations in India to lead the country emerge an economic power house.

Coming down hard on the prevailing attitude on employment and labour evaluation, Team Lease founder and CEO Manish Sabharwal called to look at the issues affecting 400 million odd people of India.

“Over 90 per cent of employment opportunity in India is from the informal sector. So it is high time that we should bring in necessary labour law changes. Here we should bringing in entrepreneurship among youth so that we can tap the emerging opportunity,” he said.

Lucas TVS Chief Operating Officer - Human Resources  A Aravamudhan highlighted the need to shift focus from conflict of interests to commonality of interests in the industrial relations for bringing out a paradigm change.
