Hoax call to school

The police said, at around 8.30 am, the school accountant received a call. The caller informed in Tamil that a bomb had been planted in the campus which would explode any time and disconnected the call.

 The school staff immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot and checked.
Situation was back to normal after the police declared it to be a hoax call. The incident did not affect routine works of the school. The police are verifying as to from where the call orginiated.

Laptop thief nabbed
The Electronic City police arrested a person and recovered three laptops, three cellphones and two DVD players and home theatre speakers worth Rs 1.5 lakh. The accused has been identified as Narayanswamy (26), of Anekal. He had burgled these goods during nights by breaking open window panes of houses which were locked, in and around Electronic City.

Welding machines stolen
In a theft in Rajagopalnagar,  thieves fled with goods worth Rs 50,000 from a factory on Doddanna Industrial Area.

The theft came to light on Tuesday, when owner A C Rajagopal came for duty. The thieves broke open sheds of the factory and fled with welding machines and other goods, said the police.

House burgled
In Vijaynagar police limits, the thieves burgled the house of a businessman and fled with cash, ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 23 lakh.

According to the police, owner Bhaskar, who stays in 4th A cross in RPC Layout, had  sprayed some liquid to eliminate cockroaches and went to his relatives house.
The thieves broke open front door of the house to gain entry. They collected ornaments, 3,000 US dollars and other articles and fled.  The theft came to light when Bhaskar returned home on Tuesday.

Two arrested
The K S Layout police arrested two persons in a vehicle theft case and recovered 10 bikes worth Rs 4 lakh.
The accused are Raja (25), of Bidadi in Ramanagar district and Devaraj (27), of
Kanakapura.

 The police secured them for questioning as they were wandering suspiciously near a parking lot near Yelachenahalli on Kanakapura Road. They spilled the beans when the police grilled them.

The accused told the police that they had used duplicate keys to steal  the bikes from the parking lot.
