VTU to conduct exam again

The first semester Mathematical Engineering examination of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) will be reconducted on January 23, following rumours of a question paper leak on Tuesday.  

The varsity has also constituted a committee to probe the question paper leak.
Vice Chancellor H Maheshappa told Deccan Herald on Tuesday question papers were uploaded on secure servers at about 1.15 pm. Colleges have to download and print them and it takes about 30 minutes for the process.

As examinations were at 2 pm, anything has to happen between the fifteen minutes and it could be mischief of some of the college staff hand-in-glove with a section of students, he said

The committee would visit the alleged colleges on Wednesday. Login, download details and number of copies printed would be collected and personnel involved would be interrogated, Dr Maheshappa said.
