Tata Docomo and Microsoft ally for Windows mobile

The new partnership involves promotion of new Windows phones-Acer Be Touch E101 and Acer Neo Touch S200 powered by Microsoft’s mobile operating software ‘Windows Mobile 6.5’. The new Windows mobile phones come with completely redesigned Windows internet explorer mobile browser with built in Adobe Flash lite and its price starts from Rs 11,000.

Under this new initiative Tata Docomo and Microsoft will launch windows phones in all the telecom circles where Docomo has operation, with an offer of 500 MB of free downloads every month for six months. Further windows Phone comes with two new services My Phone and Windows market place for Mobile.

My phone is a free service that help people manage and protect the information stored on their phones. Windows market place for Mobile offers people an easy way to find and download high quality Microsoft certified mobile applications.

‘Dive In’ store
Tata Docomo also opened its ‘Dive In’, an exclusive show room to showcase and explore new products, value added services(VAS) and latest telecom technology and gadgets in  in Indiranagar on Wednesday.

The company plans to open more than 100 ‘Dive In’ store across the country with in the first year of operations. Tata Docomo President Deepak Gulati said, “Currently, Tata Teleservices has a customer base of 45 million and its 14 pc revenue comes from VAS.”
Tata Docomo currently operates in 10 telecom circles and plans to expand its operation to eight more telecom circles by the end of the year.

“We had promised our subscribers that we would bring innovative products and services. The relationship with Microsoft will help us to launch more innovative mobile offerings for Indian consumers on Tata Docomo platform” said Tata Teleservices Managing Director Anil Sardana.
