Prayag hold Bagan 1-1

Ranty Martins found the target one minute before the regulation time to help Prayag United hold Mohun Bagan 1-1 in their I-League fixture at Kalyani as the green and maroon brigade continued their winless streak after their ban was revoked.

Tolgay Ozbey found the lead for Mohun Bagan in the 48th minute but Martins spoilt their joy to extend Bagan’s stay at the bottom of the league standings with two points.

Bagan began the second half on a promising note with Ozbey finding the lead early in the 48th minute. The struggling Australian striker found the net with a brilliant effort sending a powerful angular volley after an overhead ball dropped free inside the Prayag box.

Martins got his scoring right late in the 89th minute when his shot from top of the box went home.

Dempo draw ONGC

In Mapusa (Goa), Peter Carvalho’s stoppage time goal helped Dempo SC hold ONGC 1-1 at the Duler stadium.

Carvalho’s late equaliser was after Jatin Bisht got the visitors ahead in the 37th minute when he helped the ball in off a Eric Brown free-kick. Dempo are on 34 points from 17 matches, within reach of Churchill Brothers (38) and East Bengal (36) while ONGC remain in their mid-table position with 21 points from 17 matches.
