Outgoing Chief Executive Dick Komiyama said the management’s transformation programme was continuing and “started to show the effects”, and that the group was gearing up to launch new handsets. Komiyama was succeeded Oct 15 by Bert Nordberg, and is to stay on as advisor until the end of the year.
The group said it delivered some 14.1 million handsets during the third quarter of 2009, down 45 per cent year-on-year, but up 2 per cent on second-quarter 2009.
