Rameshwari spurs Bangalore City XI

*Fine bowling by Rameshwari G (4-4) helped Bangalore City XI score an exciting three-run win over Combined City XI in the KSCA Women’s Twenty20 tournament at the BGS (T) grounds.

Batting first, Bangalore City XI scored 111/7 in 20 overs with P Spoorthi hitting 36. In reply, despite cameos by Rakshitha K (25), Simren Henry (28), Rajeswari (27), Combined City XI could make only 108/5 in 20 overs with Rameshwari being the pick of the bowlers. Combined City XI had posted a six-wicket win over Bangalore City XI in the first tie.

»Goals from Naeemuddin and Ponnanna helped Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) edge past Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) 2-1 in the KSHA Ozonegroup Super Division hockey league championship at the KSHA stadium on Monday.

In the second match, Kalyan Bengra (20th) and Mahesh Shinde (52nd) sounded the board as Maratha Light Infantry (MLI), Belgaum beat Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) 2-1.

*Rajamurugan of Fitness Adda clinched the Mr Matrix 2013 title edging out G Balakrishna of Rocks Multi Gym in the State-level bodybuilding competition held on Sunday.
