<p>Six people who disrupted the Legislative Assembly proceedings on Thursday by shouting slogans were detained by the security staff.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Discussions on the 2013-14 budget proposals were in progress when six people, seated in the visitors’ gallery, suddenly stood up and shouted slogans, demanding suo motu powers for the Lokayukta. <br /><br />They also waved and threw a black handkerchief and pieces of paper. They have been identified as Jayakumar Hiremath, Bhaskar, Shivakumar, Ravikumar, Xavier and Santhosh.<br /> <br />Dragged out of gallery<br /><br />According to sources, the watch and ward staff had to drag them out of the gallery. They were released after the Assembly was adjourned for the day.<br /><br />Hiremath, a social activist, had flung pamphlets demanding the appointment of Lokayukta during Independence Day Celebrations at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds in Bangalore last year.<br /><br />Bhaskar, a Right to Information activist, had claimed last year that Law Minister Suresh Kumar had suppressed information about family owning property while securing a BDA site in Bangalore under the chief minister’s discretionary quota. <br />The minister had briefly quit following the allegation.<br /></p>
