Al-Anon's special awareness programme

At a special awareness programme organised here on Sunday, as many as 150 members took part in a formal introduction session of the Al-Anon Family Group.

Al-Anon is a platform for people to share their experiences and hope to seek solutions to the problems that arise when their near and dear ones turn alcoholic. 

According to Radhika, one of the members, the group normally meets once a week across the City wherein, the family members of alcoholic persons share their experiences.

At the special awareness programme, the Al-Anon trustee addressed the group on how they were helping the families cope with crisis. Though there was no formal counselling for the members, the group had helped address their problems to a large extent merely by sharing their experiences.
