Basking in the success of his recent releases, Eega and Varadanayaka, Kichha Sudeep is on a high. And amid the hullabaloo of films, the actor-director is all geared up to prove his mettle as the captain — third year in a row — of the ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ team, for the ongoing Celebrity Cricket League Season 3.

Passionate about cricket from his early days, Sudeep says that he enjoys leading the team and has seen how well they have bonded in the last few years. “We have put in a lot of practice. We play for three hours everyday and I make sure the team members are always together. I feel the boys have matured a lot in their game and we hope to get the cup this year,” he adds.

As a captain, Sudeep says that he has his team’s best interests in mind. “My mind is my biggest strength as the team captain. Batting and bowling is secondary. It is more important to be a good captain and a leader — and that’s why I have been selected as the captain for the third time,” he says.

Would he ever want to pass on the reign to someone else? “As of now, I am happy leading the team. Let’s see what the future holds,” he states.

Soon, the actor will make an appearance on the small screen as well, by hosting the Kannada version of Bigg Boss.

While he doesn’t really want to reveal much about the show, Sudeep says, “We will be announcing more details about the show in the coming months. But hosting the show is going to be a whole new experience for me.” When asked what made him take up a show like this, pat comes the reply — “When I was offered the role, I didn’t see any reason why I shouldn’t take up the offer.”

His next film to hit the screen, Bachchan, stars Bhavana and Tulip Joshi. It is one of the much-awaited releases of the year. Sudeep shares, “I love my role in this thriller. It’s a very stylish one. The script is new and Shashank is a very good director.” But Sudeep says that now, the only thing on his mind is the CCL and he has not even thought of signing on anything new. “I will be busy with the matches till March 10 and will come back to movies after that,” he wraps up.
