<p> JD(S) MLA from Shravanabelagola C S Putte Gowda submitted his resignation from the Assembly membership to Speaker K G Bopaiah at Ponnampet near here Monday afternoon.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Gowda arrived in Ponnampet along with hundreds of his supporters. Speaking to reporters, he said, “I am submitting my resignation as I feel insulted in the party.” <br /><br />The three-time legislator said the JD(S) leaders did not allow him to undertake development in his constituency, even though he had been an MLA for several years. <br /><br />He said he had been ignored as there were plans to field a member of the Deve Gowda family from Shravanabelagola.<br /><br />He said there was a suffocating environment in the party and that he was fighting to bring about change in all seven Assembly constituencies of Hassan district. <br /><br />Other leaders were not speaking out against the loopholes in the party, Gowda added. <br />He dropped enough hints that he was joining the Congress and that he would work for the party, whether he gets the ticket to contest the polls or not. <br /><br />Resignation accepted<br /><br />Legislative Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah has accepted the resignation of Gowda.<br />According to a notification issued by Legislative Assembly Secretary P Omprakash in Bangalore, the Speaker has accepted Gowda’s resignation with immediate effect.<br /></p>
