IGP (Western range) Pratap Reddy has said that with continuous combing by the ANF and district police in Dakshina Kannada, Maoists have migrated to Pushpagiri and forests in Kasargod.
The ANF and the police are continuing their combing operations at a few places. At the same time, the police have better network with citizens living in periphery of the forest. This has been a set back for the Maoists.
To a query on development work in the Naxal-infested areas, the IGP said that the police department is coordinating with the district administration and carrying out the work.
