JOIN USSamajwadi Party (SP) legislator Pramod Gupta’s son Abhinav Gupta, a student of law at a private university here, who had allegedly slapped a lady teacher in the open class a few days ago, was arrested on Sunday.
Abhinav was taken into custody by the police and produced before a court, which sent him to jail. Abhinav was angry with the lady teacher as she had deducted some marks owing to his short attendance.
On last Thursday, Abhinav had barged into the class while she was teaching and slapped her hard. The teacher ran for her safety towards the teachers’ room but he chased her and threatened to kill her. He was later suspended from the university, sources said.
The teacher had later met the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and he had assured that stern action would be taken against the culprit.
