Jayalalitha sacks three ministers

AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha sacked three ministers including a woman on Wednesday.

Tourism Minister S Gokula Indira, Minister for School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare N R Sivapathy and Health Minister Dr V S Vijay will be replaced by three new faces — T P Poonachi, Dr Vaigai Chelvan and K C Veeramani. They will be sworn in at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

This is the eight cabinet reshuffle the AIADMK leader has effected in the last 21 months.
Portfolios of some ministers have also been re-allocated as a consequence of the reshuffle.Jayalalitha’s sudden action came shortly after she inaugurated the year-long 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda wherein she made known that the works of both the great teacher and his spiritual mentor Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa had deeply influenced her right from her school days.

“The spirit of public service and sacrifice that Vivekananda symbolised had been a big inspiration for my entry into politics and public life,” she added.
