Pillion rider killed

A pillion rider was killed when a speeding lorry rammed his bike on 19th Cross, HSR Layout on Tuesday night.

Suresh Kumar, 32, a native of Tamil Nadu and a resident of Somasundarapalya, was riding pillion on his colleague Madan’s bike. The two were returning home from work.

As Madan took a sudden left turn on 19th Cross, HSR Layout, to refill the fuel, a speeding lorry rear-ended the bike. Both Kumar and Madan fell off. While Madan escaped with minor injuries, Kumar came under the wheels of the lorry and was killed on the spot.

The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Madiwala traffic police have booked a case.
