Former Brazil international midfielder Ze Roberto scored two second-half goals as Gremio moved to the top of their Copa Libertadores football group with a 4-1 victory over Caracas.

Argentine forward Hernan Barcos and defender Werley had given the home side a 2-0 half-time lead before defender Andres Sanchez reduced the deficit for Caracas, Tuesday, reports Xinhua.

"We seem to be finding our best form in this competition and have built great momentum in the past few weeks," Roberto said after the match.

"The loss in the first round (to Huachipato) led to some uncertainty but that has been forgotten. We have had some new signings and the team is now starting to gel as we become more settled. If we keep working hard, the results will come."

Gremio lead Group eight with six points from three matches ahead of second-placed Fluminense on goal difference.

In other matches Tuesday, Olimpia drew 2-2 with Deportivo Lara, Universidad de Chile defeated hosts Newell's Old Boys 2-1 and Millonarios overcame San Jose 2-1.
