Seven accused in the killing of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep in November 2012 surrendered Thursday before a Delhi court which sent them to seven days' police custody.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Raj Kumar Tripathi sent the seven accused to police custody till March 14. They were chargesheeted along with Uttarakhand Minorities Commission's sacked chairman S.S. Namdhari and other accused.

Those who surrendered are Satnam Singh, Balkar Singh, Baaj Singh, Pargat Singh, Kulbir Singh, Bakshish Singh and Hardayal Singh.

The court earlier issued non-bailable warrants against them and two others, who are still absconding, and ordered initiation of proceedings to declare them absconders.

Police sought seven days' custody of the accused for taking them to various places in Uttar Pradesh for recovery of weapons used in the crime.

The court dismissed the bail pleas of accused Rajpal Singh, Bhupender Singh, Uday Raj Singh, Satnam Singh, Mathura Singh and Anand Singh Bisht, lodged in Tihar Jail along with Namdhari, Tyagi and four others.

The court remanded them to judicial custody till March 19.

Police filed the chargesheet against Namdhari, his personal security officer Sachin Tyagi and 20 others in cases related to bloody shootout.

Ponty Chadha and his brother were killed at a farmhouse in Chhatarpur in south Delhi Nov 17, 2012, allegedly over a property dispute.
