Last Updated 07 March 2013, 18:36 IST

A three-member committee comprising experts from outside Bangalore University (BU) will revisit the colleges which have been recommended for disaffiliation by BEd college task force.

Speaking to mediapersons after the conclusion of the Syndicate meeting on Thursday, BU Vice-Chancellor Professor Thimme Gowda said the disaffiliated colleges have been given time till March 15 to comply with affiliation procedures.

“After the deadline, the panel will inspect the colleges to verify compliance. The colleges will be granted affiliation/refused affiliation based on the report of the committee,” the VC said.

The task force headed by Karan Kumar had recommended disaffiliation of 53 BEd colleges in December. However,  in January 2013, the Syndicate gave them three-month deadline to set the things right.

Meanwhile, K V Acharya, a Syndicate member alleged that the report of the task force was “biased.” He said he will write to the Principal Secretary, Higher Education, listing out the examples of bias.

However, Karan Kumar denying allegations said Acharya was behaving as an agent of BEd colleges. “It seems to me that some hidden agenda is at work,” he said.
