<p>Putting to rest the confusion over the powers of the two joint commissioners of police (crime) in the City, Inspector-General of Police Pranab Mohanty has been made the overall in-charge of the crime wing, including Central Crime Branch (CCB) and City Crime Records Bureau (CCRB). <br /><br /></p>.<p>An internal in this regard was passed by Commissioner of Police B G Jyothi Prakash Mirji on Wednesday. <br /><br />Hitherto, B Dayananda and Mohanty, both Inspectors General of Police, were Joint Commissioner (Crime-East) and Joint Commissioner (Crime-West) respectively. <br /><br />Recently, Dayananda was transferred to CID and was replaced by S Murugan, an officer of Deputy Inspector General of Police rank. As Mohanty is senior in rank to Murugan, he has been made over-all in-charge of the crime wing. <br /></p>
