Wonderla Holidays Ltd presented the awards for the winners of ‘Wonderla Green Awards – 2012-13’, conducted for all Bangalore municipality schools, at a glittering ceremony held at Wonderla Resort recently.

 The ‘Wonderla Green Award’ is an annual property of the company to acknowledge and reward schools that have adopted the most innovative and effective practices to conserve and manage natural resources within their premises and to create awareness about the environment in younger minds and encourage them to ‘go
green’.

 ‘Wonderla Green Award 2012-13’ contest received a remarkable participation from 50 schools in Bangalore. The shortlisting of nominations was based on a complete audit of the school’s overall environmental practices, carried out by its management and students.

Arun Chittilappilly, managing director at Wonderla Holidays Ltd, said, “‘Wonderla Green Awards’ is very much in line with our brand objective to create a green world. The aim of the award is not merely to rate, but to encourage schools to protect and conserve nature and support to build up a healthier environment. We are very delighted with the responses that we have received this year and would like to thank each participating school to come forward and take part in this noble initiative.”

After the final selection, a post-evaluation visit was carried out by the jury members to decide the final top three winners.

The top three winning schools of the ‘Wonderla Green Award – 2012-13’ are K K English High School, Varthur; Delhi Public School, Yelahanka and Vagdevi Vilas Institution, Marathahalli respectively.

The winner has been awarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000. A sum of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15, 000 were awarded to the first runners-up and the second runners-up respectively.

The schools which were awarded consolation prizes are The Samhita Academy, Bannerghatta; Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Rajarajeshwari Nagar; New Baldwin International School, Avalahalli and AC School, Jalahalli.
