Govt swaps postings of IPS officers

The State government has again effected the transfers of two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers that has swapped the positions of the two officers holding key positions in the State police.

T Suneel Kumar (Inspector General of Police), who was holding charge of additional commissioner (Law and Order), Bangalore City, has taken the place of Alok Kumar who is the chief of Anti-Naxal Force (ANF), Udupi.

In short, the government has swapped the positions of these two officers.

In addition, the government has transferred senior IAS officer Bharath Lal Meena, Principal Secretary Urban Development Department (UDD), posting him as principal secretary, Agriculture department.

Previous postings

The previous postings to the Agriculture department were occupied by the ‘shunted’ BBMP commissioners, including Dr Subramanya and M K Shankarlinge Gowda.

Dr N S Channappa Gowda, the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, is now the registrar of Co-operative Societies.

Amita Prasad, an IAS officer, has been given the additional charge of being the managing director of the Karnataka Silk Industries Development Corporation, while another officer Lakshminarayana has been posted as the principal secretary of the UDD.
