CS told to file fresh plea on shifting statue

Last Updated 11 March 2013, 20:36 IST

The High Court has directed Chief Secretary S V Ranganath to file a fresh petition in connection with the action taken by the Karnataka government to shift the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar and ensure hassle-free work of the ‘Namma Metro’.

Following a contempt petition filed by a City-based advocate A V Amarnathan, stating that the High Court order has not been implemented, the Chief Secretary had filed an affidavit, contending that the petition is liable to be dismissed.

However, the Division Bench headed by Justice N K Patil, which heard the matter, on Monday directed the CS to file a fresh affidavit within two days and adjourned the matter.
