Techie, unemployed man commit suicide

Two persons ended their lives in the City on Tuesday.

A techie, Shivaram (27), employed in an IT firm, was found hanging at his rented accommodation in Koramangala 8th Block on Tuesday evening.

A native of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Shivaram had been living in theCity for two years. He was not seen for the last three days and the house owner assumed that he might have gone to his native place.

When foul smell started emanating from the house, the owner broke open the door and found his body hanging from a ceiling fan, in a highly decomposed state.

The Koramangala police have retrieved the body and have registered a case. The body has been shifted to the Victoria Hospital where an autopsy will be performed, after Shivaram’s family members arrive.

The police said the exact reason for the death was yet to be ascertained. No death note was found.

In another incident, Girish Kumar (35), a native of B K Halli, Pavagada, was found dead at his relative’s house in Vidyaranyapura on Tuesday night.

Police said Girish was working in a factory and had recently lost his job. Frustrated that he could not find another job, he was driven to suicide, said his family members.

Girish shut himself up in a room in the afternoon and did not come out even by late night. When he did not answer their calls, the family members broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

An autopsy was performed at the M S Ramaiah Hospital and the body was handed over to the family. The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case of unnatural death.
