IIMB constitutes advisory council

The seven-member council will provide long-term guidance to the activities of the centre and define roles of the stakeholders. The council includes luminaries such as Prof Larry Schroeder of Syracuse University, New York, Prof Pratap Bhanu Mehta, the President of Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi,  Dr Sanjay Baru the Consulting Editor of Business Standard, New Delhi and Professor Xue Lan the Dean of School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. The Chairperson of the CPP Professor Gopal Naik too will be part of the council. Prof Pankaj Chandra,  Director of IIMB said, “This is an integral part of creating global benchmarks and linkages for IIMB that will strengthen our research programmes.”

Think tank

The Centre for Public Policy (CPP) is a policy think tank engaged in research, teaching and capacity building among other things. In July 2009, CPP was designated by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India, as a Centre of Excellence in the area of Urban Development, one of 13 such centres established by the MoUD to bridge the tremendous gap in capacity in the urban sector.
