Head constable accused of tampering with statement

 
Narayanappa, a resident of Thippasandra in Huttur Hobli of the taluk has said that there was a fight between his family and T M Sonnappa on Oct 13 over a property dispute and he was admitted to district hospital. The head constable obtained the statement at the hospital in the evening on the same day.

“However, my statement saying ‘assaulted with a machete on ear’ has been altered as ‘assaulted with hand on ear’ amongst other alteration,” he has said.

Narayanappa, in his complaint submitted to the police station, has alleged that the head constable has tampered with the statement in collusion with the accused.

He has forwarded a copy of the complaint to Chief Minister, Home Minister, secretary of Home Department and State Human Rights Commission and other higher officiers for suitble action.
