Different looks for Priyanka

Priyanka Chopra has been known to experiment with her looks in different films — in ‘Don 2’, for instance, she pulled of an official yet chic avatar in fitted skirts and blouses, while in Teri Meri Kahaani, she tried out different outfits, including desi attire like kurtas and patialas.

The actress doesn’t shy away from experimenting which is why in Zanjeer, her upcoming film, she’ll be tweaking her wardrobe once again.

In this movie — which is the remake of Zanjeer, which released in 1973, directed by Apoorva Lakhia — Priyanka will sport two very distinct looks, says designer Pria Kataria Puri.

This is the first time that Pria is foraying into Bollywood and she had quite a task on her hands.
In the Zanjeer remake, Priyanka is playing the role of Mala, who has some interesting shades in her character.

“In the first half of Zanjeer, when she’s abroad, Priyanka would be dressed as a woman entrepreneur should be dressed. You see, in today’s times, a working woman from India doesn’t stand out at the airport. She looks like any chic, well-dressed woman from any part of the world,” explains Pria.

However, the outfits that she’s put together for Priyanka change in the latter part of the movie.
“Later, when Priyanka’s character comes to India, she gets more colourful in her sartorial expression. You would notice that even when an Indian girl in India dresses in western clothes, there is a dash of Indianness in her clothes. She may wear shorts — but they would be orange in colour. Priyanka’s clothes would reflect her changed geo-political mindset,” she adds.
