Visual treat on the roads

Last Updated 18 March 2013, 13:03 IST

It was a dream-come-true for car lovers of the City when more than 30 super cars from the City gathered at a hotel for the inauguration of the Bangalore chapter of the CannonBall Club. From Lamborghini to Rolls Royce, the cars offered a visual treat.

The sports car owners were more than happy to flaunt their cars and after a brief introduction of the club, the cars were flagged off for a spin across the City as the car lovers cheered them on.
Paritosh Gupta, the founder and the president of the club, was happy with the overwhelming response from the people.

“We had expected around 15 cars to participate in the show as well as join the club. So many of them have turned up that there is no space to park in the hotel. We are very happy that Bangalore has its own CannonBall Club now. The club organises road shows and competitions for super cars throughout the country. We also send participants abroad for many competitions,” he adds.

Lamborghini Aventador, Audi KAV10, Porsche turbo, Nissan GTR, Rolls Royce, Mercedes SLS, BMW, Maserati etc were some of the cars which were present there.

Aditya Arora, one of the founding members of the club, was excited with the response the club had got in the City.

“It is great to see so many people taking an interest in the club, it is quite encouraging. We have 30-plus cars participating and many good cars have come here today,” he says.

The cars then went on for a drive across the City. Paritosh, who led the convoy, explained the rules and regulations.

“We will cover Lavelle Road, MG Road, Brigade Road, then cross Forum Mall, Madiwala and go to Electronic City. From there, we will take a U-turn and go to Hosur Road, NICE Road and Kanakapura after which we will return here. The tour will take around an hour. There are some rules that we are following. No overtaking is allowed as it might cause traffic disruption,” explains Paritosh.

Abhishek, one of the members of the club, was happy to flaunt his Porsche Turbo.

“I am happy that we have a super car club here in Bangalore. Hope many more such events will be organised in the future,” he adds.
