BJP nominates Shivappa as MLC

Former BJP president B B Shivappa has been nominated MLC. His term will conclude on June 20, 2014.

A gazette notification nominating him MLC was issued on Monday. He has been nominated to the seat, which has fallen vacant following the resignation of Vijaya Sankeshwar.

Shivappa headed the BJP Hiriyara Vedike after he moved out of the BJP. He has said the Vedike would cease to exist following his nomination to the Council.
