JOIN USA lady teacher at an upper primary school at Arei, about 16 km from here, was attacked with a sharp weapon by her husband in the school premises on Monday morning, police said.
He inflicted multiple injuries on the 44-year-old teacher’s face and other body parts before he was arrested for allegedly attempting to murder her.
The incident took place while the teacher was taking class at an upper primary school in Baruneswar. She was rushed to the local government hospital and when her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the district head quarters hospital at Jajpur town, police said.
According to the FIR filed, the teacher had received a phone call from her husband while taking class at about 8 am. He asked her to meet him in the school premises. Just as she reached the spot, he pulled out a knife and began hitting her at her various body parts, including her face.
The husband, who was absconding after the incident, was tracked and arrested.
