Vasundhara’s decision to quit has left the Raje camp demoralised, while those desperately wanting her to step down have all reasons to feel elated.

Moreover, it is sure to bring immense relief to party chief Rajnath Singh.

In a highly critical letter to the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L K Advani, the former chief minister lashed out at the party leadership for “humiliating a progressive woman” and running the outfit in an undemocratic way.

‘Seniors against me’

Raje’s resignation was accepted by BJP parliamentary board chaired by Advani. The former chief minister also accused senior party leaders of working against her in the state during her term as chief minister and in ticket distribution during Assembly polls last year.

She also questioned  whether any leader had been replaced for dismal performance of the party in the state in the Lok Sabha elections.
