Panel approves 37 projects

The State High-Level Clearance Committee headed by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has approved 37 projects which carry a total investment of Rs 34,702.09 crore.

According to the office of Major Industries Minister, Murugesh Nirani, the new projects will be developed in 18 districts. While Bangalore Urban will get an investment of Rs 4063.83 crore, Bangalore Rural is to receive Rs 1593.22 crore. Both the districts will get four projects each. In all, these 37 projects promise to generate employment for 1,58,463 people.

Other major districts to receive business investments are: Bagalkot (Rs 495.24 cr), Belgaum (Rs 4182 cr), Bijapur (Rs 3695.78 cr), Gulbarga (Rs 1562.9 cr).
