Arya Dravida play cancelled on 24, 26

The organisers of ‘Aryra Dravida’ play – who grabbed the attention for creating  mega sets, have cancelled the remaining shows to be held on March 24 and 26 citing financial crisis.

Play director Girish Machalli has said that the play to be staged on March 24 and 26 had been cancelled, but the show on March 28 would be help as per schedule.
The 10-hour play was successfully staged for the very first time Kagemanti near Machalli in the taluk by the Charvaka troupe on March 20. But the troupe failed to sustain the momentum.

Girish said that the plays had to be suspended as the funds allocated by the department of Kannada and Culture had not been released on time, while several political leaders who had assured to sponsor the play, too failed to keep up their promises.

The troupe has so far incurred expenses amounting to Rs three lakh on lighting, which is yet to be paid, forcing the troupe to cancel the in between shows.
