<p>Units 5 and 6 of Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) has been shut down following leakage of steam from pipelines of boilers.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Noticing that steam was leaking from the boiler of Unit 5, it was closed on Saturday. Unit 6 of the thermal power station was shut down, on Sunday, following a similar problem.<br /><br />According to sources at the Raichur Thermal Power Station, Unit 5 might begin production of power by Sunday night. Whereas Unit 6 might resume producing power on Monday.<br /><br />At present Unit 8 is producing 130 MW of power. Excluding Unit 5 and 6, power production at the RTPS now stands at 1,050 MW.</p>
