<p>Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi committee members have met Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Dr T C Shivshankarmurthy and submitted a memorandum requesting to start masters degree in fine arts (MFA). <br /></p>.<p> <br />Artists said that though a few private colleges have started Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), there is no scope to study masters, in the district. <br />The students have to depend on Dharwad, Gulbarga, Mysore, Bangalore, Shantiniketana or Baroda universities. <br /><br />As a result, students hailing poor background are not in a position to pursue their masters degree. <br /><br />Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi President Koti Prasad Alva, honourary secretary B Ganesh Somayaaji, secretary Dinesh Holla and organising Secretary Rajendra Kedige were present. <br /></p>
