<p>Three women were electrocuted when they came in contact with an electric fence in Bommanahalli of Sindhagi taluk on Thursday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The deceased have been identified as Lakshmibai Boodappa Shivanagi (42), Mahananda Erappa Poojari (20) and her twin sister Bhagamma Erappa Poojari (20).<br /><br />Unauthorised power<br /><br />According to Hescom officials, the fence had an illegal power connection. The electrified fence had been placed around the sugar cane field to prevent pigs from damaging crops.<br /><br />Of the three victims, the twin sisters are the daughters of the land owner while Lakshmibai was a farm worker. The accident occurred while the three were crossing the fence to enter the field.<br /><br />Alamel police have registered a case.<br /></p>
