Talks on candidates to continue till Apr 16: Joshi

State BJP president Pralhad Joshi said on Wednesday that the party would continue discussions regarding selection of candidates till April 16, the penultimate day for filing nominations, reports DHNS from Hubli.

Loyalty to the party and winnability were the criteria for choosing candidates, he told reporters in the city.

“The list of candidates for 150 to 160 constituencies have been finalised. Senior party leaders have been assigned the responsibility of talking to ticket aspirants in different regions of the State.

While D V Sadananda Gowda will be in charge of Mysore and Mandya districts, Ananth Kumar and R Ashoka have been assigned Bangalore and Ramanagar,” he said. He said Eshwarappa is in-charge of Shimoga and C T Ravi are in charge of Gulbarga, Bidar and Raichur, while Joshi and Jagadish Shettar will talk to candidates in Dharwad, Belgaum and surrounding districts.
